I've owned this guitar for longer than some of you have been alive and it's as perfect as a tremolo can get.Besides taking the "EX" logo off the headstock, I also removed the "XH1, XH2, XS3" labels off the pickups. So do your best to try and overcome this trem, and it'll laugh at you. It has NEVER gone out of tune while doing ANY kind of dive-bomb. a good polish will have it looking really nice.As for the tremolo, you can bag on the "lower line" tremolo that is on this guitar all you want, but this thing is EVERY BIT as good as my original Floyd Rose (on another guitar). The gold can be cleaned up better than it looks now. So, the tremolo saddles, the tremolo base plate, etc. This finish looks GREAT with the gold hardware! However, as with all gold hardware (especially on a guitar that is 27 years old) the gold has started to turn silver where your hand touches it. It's the transparent purple finish with the brown basswood back and sides. I'd call it not as thin as an RG, but still thin and fast. I've played a lot of the RG series, and those necks were always fast and thin, but this one is a little different. Both the body AND neck have ivory binding all the way around. but for this auction, and for all intents and purposes, this is a 1992.Moving on.The body is basswood, with a 1/4 inch flamed maple top. (which I left on there) Supposedly the red EX logos were on the later guitars? I don't know. It originally had the red "EX" on it with the small white Ibanez. I removed some of the logo because I thought it looked "cheap". Like every other normal bolt-on neck guitar. Instead, it has the typical block joint between the neck and the body. The only reasons I would question the actual date is because it doesn't have the AANJ (All Access Neck Joint). The internet says it's a 1992 Ibanez EX3700. It has always lived in a smoke-free, pet-free home.So looking at it, it is a very high quality Ibanez guitar. It played better than the others, and it looked great too! Anyway, I acquired it and have owned it since about 1998 (I think). This guitar and I had a definite connection! He had many other guitars I could chose from, but I always grabbed this one. I'll do my best.My friend had this guitar in his studio and every time we'd get together and play, I'd always grab this thing off his wall.
